An Ancient Word That Feels Surprisingly Current
At Fusion, we believe Scripture isn’t just history — it’s the heartbeat of God speaking into our moment. Combined with the present day work of the Holy Spirit, it comes alive and speaks! When Paul wrote his letter to the church in Colossae nearly two thousand years ago, he addressed people under enormous cultural pressure — spiritual confusion, political tension, philosophical trends, and even competing ideas of “truth.”
Sound familiar?

That’s why Colossians might be the most relevant letter for the modern church.
The Big Idea
Paul’s message is stunningly simple:
Jesus is supreme. Jesus is sufficient. Jesus is enough.
He’s not one spiritual option among many — He’s the center of creation and the Lord over every realm, seen and unseen. When Paul says, “In Him all things hold together” (Col. 1:17), he’s reminding us that every breath, every day, every system, every heartbeat — holds because of Christ.
How It Connects to Us
We live in an age of spiritual blending — where “my truth” often replaces the truth.
We face endless self-help formulas that promise fullness but leave us empty.
We chase identity, performance, and politics for meaning — and still hunger for peace.
Colossians cuts through the noise:
“Christ in you — the hope of glory.” (Col. 1:27)
That’s not theory. That’s transformation.
It means you carry the presence of Jesus in everyday life — at home, at work, in traffic, in worship, in quiet moments of prayer.
Why It Matters Right Now
Christ conquers confusion – His supremacy brings clarity and confidence in a chaotic world.
Christ transforms community – In Him, old divisions fade; new creation people emerge.
Christ renews identity – You’re not defined by sin, status, or success — but by His indwelling life.
Christ redeems vocation – Every act, from parenting to prayer to paying bills, can be worship.

The Last Word
A 2,000-year-old letter still whispers the most modern truth imaginable:
Jesus is enough — for your mind, your family, your city, and your world.
As Paul said,
“He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” (Colossians 1:17)
Let that reality hold you together this week. With much love! - Pastor Doug
