And You Will Be Enriched

“Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.” Proverbs 11:25 What a simple approach to service. I love this message for right now in our Spiritual family. In this current climate and society, it's so easy to become inward focused and distracted by the busy pace that we forget the simple concept of serving and blessing others. We can find ourselves waking up exhausted and empty, wondering why when we became isolated and lacking in passion. This is because we don't experience true life until we start to give it away! If you've been feeling drained in your spirit, read on- getting into action could be just the kickstart you need to grab that lifegiving passion again. “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Luke 6:38 There are many currencies of love in the Kingdom, and service is a big one of them. But what I love about Kingdom ways is that things are often upside down; you give, but then find yourself receiving more than you gave. You pour out and somehow become filled to overflowing. You serve out of your energy stores, and then you are blessed with zeal and life back in your bones. This is the goodness of God when we move with the Spirit and allow Him to breathe on the efforts of our hearts and hands. “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.”  1 Peter 4:10 Every one of us has a calling and a gifting, and we get to use these in service and love of our Kingdom family to advance the Gospel and see lives made whole. What a really great job description, am I aright?! What is required of us is the willingness to explore with God and see what he has put within us for the purpose of pouring out. Are you called to pray? Are you called to counsel? Is working with children your gift? Does working with your hands on practical needs make you come alive? Whatever it is that lights a fire in your soul, there is a place for you to do that and more than that, we NEED who you were made to be! The full expression of the Kingdom family can't come to fruition unless each son and daughter steps into their identity and flows with the unique life God has out in each one. “Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.”   Colossians 3:23-24 On the other hand, let's not wait until we find our specific purpose before getting to work. Let's commit to doing the good work that is available and in front of us right here in our season, as everything that is done with the heart of service to God and people is sacred in the Kingdom. If you don't know what your specific calling is yet, that's alright! Start moving forward and doing the thing in front of you; as you move, God will begin to guide you. As we've all heard before, "God can't steer a parked car."
