Bringing Revival to Greeley

An Outreach Highligh

There are two upcoming prayer walks in April for the city of Greeley, led by Lori Watson at Fusion, on the 12th and 26th from 10am-12pm. If you feel a pull on your heart to pray for revival in our city, grab some friends and join the walk! Lori is passionate about seeing revival come to Greeley. When asked about the vision behind these prayer walks, she says, "God told me to move to Greeley about 7 years ago. He said it is my mission field. Recently, He's said that it is time to pray for revival in Greeley. Some of those who have joined me said they wanted to walk with me. And a friend decided to come from another church as well. I've been pleasantly surprised to have a few different cities and churches represented. It's beautiful to see the unity, all of us coming together. I believe more people are coming to the next one from different churches and cities. It's not about numbers. It is about people who care for the lost, for revival and for Greeley."

These prayer walks will begin with an hour of worship at the Fusion building. It's important to engage in worship before and during any time spent serving in ministry. Setting our hearts and minds rooted in the source of all truth and power will take us from a place of striving to a place of intimacy and partnership. Worship fosters faith. Beholding Jesus and praising Him above all, we release any negativity or incorrect mindset we may be holding onto. When we know who we are and who's we are, we pray from heaven to earth, instead of focusing on our own inadequacy. When we become in-tune with the Holy Spirit we will shine with the light of His countenance to those around us. Laying aside our agendas and allowing God to work in and through us creates opportunity for amazing things to happen and atmospheres to change. There's nothing that is as spectacular and exciting as watching God's power manifest while we pray and move His heart. Can you hear it? It's the sound of heaven roaring as His people declare His name throughout all the earth. Here are a few ideas for these group prayer walks in Greeley and even those you begin to do on your own, while you walk and pray in your neighborhood or city: 1. Always start with worship. Sing or listen to worship music and speak out His praises. This will get you in the right mindset before you set out. 2. Bring your Bible. You can read and speak out the scriptures, washing yourself and the city around you with His Word; ask God to bring specific passages to mind for each unique situation. 3. Be on the lookout. As you go from street to street, notice sights, listen for sounds, and look for pictures that spark specific prayers in your heart; begin to declare these prayers out loud. Your words carry the power of life in them! 4. Welcome creativity! Consider bringing a journal, if you're a writer, for recording your impressions and prayers. Paint or draw prophetic pictures, if you're an artist. If you're a dancer, consider dancing in a specific spot to express His joy. This is the time for our gifts and imagination to be utilized! God has created you uniquely and this is your opportunity to experiment, grow and take new ground. When it comes down to it, all you have to do is start! We hope you join the upcoming prayer walks on April 12th and 26th, and begin walking on your own as well. Here are some scriptures to get you inspired. We'll see you on the road! "See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.” Isaiah 60:2-3

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance.” Psalm 33:12

"Praise be to the name of God forever and ever; wisdom and power are his. He changes times and seasons... He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.” Daniel 2:20-21

"Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:9-10
